Act FAST when you see signs of a stroke
Mar 20, 2019
Recent events in the news remind us that stroke can happen to people of all ages. Remember the four key signs of stroke identification, or FAST:
- Face - Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?
- Arms - Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
- Speech - Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence. Are the words slurred? Can they repeat the sentence correctly?
- Time - If a person is having trouble with these basic commands, call 911 immediately.
